When the clock hits six, the day feels heavier than usual

Work piled up like I hoped it wouldn't, and all I could think about was getting home to my family.
Sometimes I wonder if they notice how tired I am or if they just see the smile I try to wear every day.
The kids' laughter when I walk through the door is the only current strong enough to pull me through these exhausting days.
