Mystery in the Shadows

The other night, I woke up to a strange sound.
When I looked outside, I saw a lone crow perched quietly at my window.
It stared at me with unblinking eyes before suddenly swooping into the house through the slightly open door.
The silence afterward was so thick, it felt like the world paused for a moment.
